Each space starts out messy or empty. You unpack the boxes, sort and organise what is there, repair what is broken and then design the room: choose the furniture, place the decor and try different looks until the space works as a home. The game moves you through many distinct spaces, one after another, and the mechanics stay simple throughout.
There is only one control to learn. Click on a computer, or tap on a phone or tablet, to make a choice. Picking a sofa, placing a lamp and sorting a box all go through that single action, so there is nothing to memorise before you start and nothing to press quickly.
Key table
- Clear the boxes before you decorate. Unpacking and sorting first shows you what the room already has, so you are not choosing furniture around clutter you have not looked at yet.
- Repair before you style. A broken item stays broken whatever you put next to it, and fixing it often changes what the room needs.
- Try a choice you are unsure about. Nothing is timed and nothing is lost, so the cheapest way to learn what the game rewards is to place something and look at it.
- Treat each room as finished when it reads as a home, not when every slot is filled. The game keeps handing you new spaces, and there is no score for cramming.
This one suits you if you want something calm to do with one hand. There is a single input, no timer and no failure state, so it works in short bursts on a phone as well as a long sitting at a computer.
It is a poor fit if you want pressure, a score to beat or an opponent. Nothing in Decor Life pushes back, which is the point of it.
- Is there any way to lose?
- No. There is no timer, no health and no failure state. You can leave a room half-done and come back to it.
- Do I need a mouse?
- No. The whole game runs on one action, so a click on a computer and a tap on a phone or tablet do the same job.
- Does it save my progress?
- Progress is handled by the game on its Poki page, not by this site. Poki does not require a sign-up to open it.
