The course is a run of obstacles, and you have five animals to get through it: a gecko, a monkey, a kangaroo, a turkey and an elephant. Each has its own ability, so part of the game is choosing the right animal for the section in front of you. Boosts, such as flying, help on the harder levels. You can also create online lobbies and play the course with friends.
On a computer, WASD or the arrow keys move, Space jumps and the number keys 1 to 5 switch animal; the mouse handles buttons, boosts and settings. On phones and tablets the left joystick moves, the right joystick turns the camera and a button on screen jumps.
Key table
- Look at the obstacle before you pick the animal. The number keys switch instantly, so the cost of choosing wrong is a fall, not a lost second.
- Learn all five keys early. Playing the whole course on one animal is possible in places and impossible in others, and the impossible sections are where runs end.
- On a phone, settle the camera with the right joystick before a jump. Most missed landings are the camera pointing somewhere other than where you are going.
- Save the boosts for the sections that have already beaten you once. They are most useful on the harder levels, where an ability alone is not quite enough.
This one suits you if you like a platformer with a puzzle in it. Reading a section and picking the animal that solves it is the actual game, and the lobbies make it something you can do with friends.
It is a poor fit if you want a single, simple control scheme. Five animals, a jump, a camera and a set of boosts is a lot of input, especially on a touchscreen.
- Which animal should I start with?
- Whichever suits the section in front of you. All five are available on the number keys, and the course is designed around switching rather than settling on one.
- Can I play with friends?
- Yes. The game lets you create online lobbies and run the course together.
- Is it harder on a phone?
- It asks more of you. The left joystick moves, the right turns the camera and jumping is a separate button, so three things need your thumbs at once.
